What, if anything, should I take from the fact that the swollen left gill is now a swollen right gill? Not both; just the right.

F8 - Swollen left gill...nematode?

I noticed a few days ago that my F8 had cloudy eyes, some ragged fins and a slight swelling of his left gill. I did some research and decided to start a Maracyn Two regimen. I'm on Day 4 of that, and the cloudy eye problem is gone along with visual signs of fin healing, however the swollen gill pers...

I'm not dead set on anything, other than wanting a puffer. In fact, I'm taking the loss of my GSP as a chance to do some research into finding a puffer that would best suit my abilities/tastes, rather than just taking what one fish store has. I'm thinking that a FW puffer would be best for me. I hav...

Honestly, I didn't check for a "best before" date on the package of Bio Spira. It didn't occur to me to do so. But it came directly from one of the area's most reputable fish store's fridge and straight into my tank. They did a water check today when I returned the body. Ammonia was high, ...

Well, there was cause for some concern. My puffer died overnight. The Bio-Spira was added at the same time as the fish, and one ounce is supposed to work for 30 G. Maybe more would've been better, as it's said you can't overdose Bio Spira. I haven't tested the water yet today. I'm not so sure how re...

Yes, I dechlorinated the water when I first set up the tank. Stress Coat, I believe. And I used the entire package of Bio Spira. It had just come out of the fish shop's fridge. I don't see any sort of cloudiness to the eyes, except when they seem to "glow" from direct light. In other words...

I created a thread on the hospital forum to solicit some help. Either I'm paranoid, or maybe he's a little ill. Here's the post http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/vie ... php?t=4708.

Maybe Cause for Concern (GSP-RIP)

I originally posted this ( http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4705 ) because I had a few questions. Now maybe I'm paranoid because of inexperience with the species, but I'm a little concerned. I just got the GSP. Introduced it into my 29 G tank today (Friday) at about 11 AM. I did s...

Ok, so I just noticed that my puffer's eyes "glow" green in the light. Normal, or no?

The tank has two large plants and two small, as well as having a rock cave and another rock formation that can be used for shade. It's really easy to hide in my tank. And I've over filtered the tank by about 210%, so his finding complex currents to play in shouldn't be a problem. As far as taking hi...

New To Pufferkeeping (if that's a word)

So a few weeks ago, I decided to get back into fishkeeping. I bought a 29 gallon tank, set it up to support a typical freshwater community and let it cycle. Yesterday I went to the fish store to select my fish and found they had some green spotted puffers along with a few fugus. I decided I had to h...
