I have a Whisper 3 on one of my tanks and decided to do this with it, it is not the main filter so I thought I would modify it since it was just wasting away in the garage... foam filter floss (walmart) and pot scrubbers (dollar general) turns out to be a very nice Bio filter and have had no problem...

ok, a question... what if you have a 55 gal BW and need to do water changes? that is like 15 gals (25%) or is it not the same as fresh? and don't correct me on the numbers to be exact it is (13.75) but anyway should I keep 3 5 gal buckets ready at all times or is there an easier way to handle this?....
