Re: Red Billed Puffer

Previously established tank with two DP's and the gobies, moved the DP's to their own tank.

Re: Red Billed Puffer

Yeah I was just having trouble finding much that referenced a red billed puffer haha.
Its a 20 gal, relatively dense "planting." Tank mates are two freshwater bumblebee gobies.
First time keeping a puffer other than some dwarves.

Red Billed Puffer

Recently picked up a "Red Billed Puffer" from my LFS. They didn't know the specific species name. Looks like C. irrubesco, but I was just wondering if "red billed puffer" was just a generic name for C. irrubesco, loreti etc or if it specific to one. I can try and post a pic, but ...

The aquatic science classes at my school have caught puffers ( don't know what species ) in some marshes around Galveston.

The afore mentioned scat

If you remember my post about the scat from earlier who had what I thought was a fungus ball on his face (looked like a big red zit). The other fish in the tank looked like they were getting some sort of whitish fungus. My friend started treating with both melafix and pimafix. At first I thought his...

Oh the irony

So my prompting for asking the question about scats in freshwater was because: a) Two LFS around here keep them in it and b) my friend keeps one in a freshwater tank I wanted to know because all I had heard was that scats are brackish/marine. So I was gonna tell him, but I didn't wanna be wrong abou...

The Aquarium in Houston has a tank full of bichirs of varying species and sizes. Some were pencile thin, and a few others looked as thick as my arm.

He's around 2.5 inches.
The bump usually goes down in around hour.
He always seems really hungry. He zooms up and down the glass all day.

Lumpy Suvatti

When I feed my suvatti shrimp, his belly gets extremely lopsided, like the food is only going to one side of him. I didn't notice it while he was eating feeders and crays. Any ideas?

Finally

I recently got my suvatti to eat frozen shrimp. I think he was just scared of the big chunks, cause he went at it like there was no tomorrow once I cut it in half. In addition, his coloration has normalized. He's a little lighter than most I've seen, but he's also in a bare tank aside from a cave. H...
