Dwarf Puffers in Distress

38 gallon tank ammonia 0 nitrate <0 nitrite <0 ph 7.5-7.7 about 8 dwarf puffers and several otos I bought these puffers about 6 months ago when they were fairly young. All the while living together with no problems. I figure they have a good 3-4 gallons per fish. The tank is heavily planted. Recentl...

Re: glass surfing red eyes

Happily my 2 red eye puffers are still alive, I moved them to one of my more established tanks. Their names are Sheena and Bruno!

Catappa Leaves

I heard that catappa leaves were good for fish because they improve water quality and the eliminate fungus and certain diseases in aquariums. I also heard it's good for triggering breeding in fish. Does anyone here have any experience with these leaves and there effects and benefits for freshwater p...

African Cichlid substrate

I'm starting a 30 gallon aquarium for a red eye puffer. I know sand is the best substrate and it probably doesn't really matter as long as it's a fine sand. I was just curious and a little worried about using African cichlid mix sand, would the puffer like it?

Shallow 20 gal Tank

I just bought a used 20 gallon tank. The dimensions are 30X12X12. I'm worried that this tank would be too shallow for a puffer though I'm not sure. I was I could put either dwarves in there or a red eye or two. Would a 12 inch deep tank be too shallow for these guys?

hi everyone

I'm a fairly new puffer enthusiast. I have several dwarf puffers in a 38 gallon tank with many plant along with otos and ghost shrimp. I'm very glad I found this site, there is much useful info on here.
