I recently bought two F8's (of about 1/2"). They are in a 30g previously inhabited by an african cichlid, so it is cycled. As far as their diet is concerned, their menu will include (if you give me the green light) frozen bloodworms, frozen mysis shrimp and frozen brine shrimp (I read somewhere...

Thank you for the advice. I got a 10g tank for him and he is currently on melafix. A friend of mine is going to take him as soon as he is healthy.

He is around 1.5" and in pretty bad shape... the F8's I saw at the LFS were very small, about 0.5"

I had two 30g tanks, both with african cichlids. Yesterday, I decided to put all cichlids (three in total) together to free the second 30g tank for two figure 8 puffers. One of the cichlids is way smaller and weaker than the other two and he was going to certainly die if I had left him in there, so ...

Phaedrus: I have another 30g tank up and running since last october with african chiclids in it. It has the Eco-Complete for African Chiclids substrate.

Can I use some of that substrate???

I have been unable to find B-S at LFS's. They do not even know B-S exists, I became aware of it's existence yesterday. Can I use live-rock as a measure to make it easier on a F8 to cycle the tank???
