Re: Offer from LFS - red eye puffer

It is, which is why i originally felt bad for not getting it in the first place, didnt make it in time lastnight so I'm going to swing by right after work tonight and bring it home. They are usually very good at keeping the tanks and fish clean, but that poor thing seems to be neglected and swimming...

Re: Offer from LFS - red eye puffer

Well, looks like I'm going back on my word, I'm going to pick it up tonight. The 2 DP's I picked up died yesterday, both looked like skin and bones, not too sure what the issue was since the water permeters came out normal, and they were eating, assuming diseased.

drip acclimation process

I am very interested in adding a dragon goby to my freshwater, and my LFS (thatpetplace.com) has them instock, but kept in brackish. I know they can survive and thrive well in fresh and would like to give it a shot. I watched a quick video on using this process for saltwater fish, but I belive they ...

Re: Offer from LFS - red eye puffer

I ended up not getting it, they have it living in a 3 gallon tank, and I even went back to the LFS to check it out again, as soon as I walked up to the tank the poor thing cowered into the corner, and I would need to do anything upgrade with the tank, really don't have the room for that, so needless...

Re: GSP Breathing Heavy

Because the canister filter I have is for a 100 gallon tank in a 30 gallon, and the bubble wand is attatched to a large coral piece I purchased for decoration. The suction from the filter pulls in some of the air and causes the filter to make all sorts of noise while it tries to push the air back in...

Re: Offer from LFS - red eye puffer

I'm still undecided about it, I went back into the LFS this afternoon to gather another look, and as soon as I slowly walked up to the tank, the puffer cowered into the corner. I did a little research and have found that they aren't as personable as a GSP or other species, so I'm not too sure what I...

Re: GSP Breathing Heavy

Something else I thought of, not sure if it matters or not. Yesterday I got the bag of frozen half shell clams out, forgot they were out for about 45 minutes, and put them back in the freezer. Would that have caused them to go bad? It is acting better than this morning, swimming around as well as no...

Re: GSP Breathing Heavy

My only assumption is that perhaps my hydrometer POS mislead my reading and the salt level was raised too quickly?

Re: GSP Breathing Heavy

My tank has been up since September, and cycled with mature bacteria from another tank.
I raised the SG by .20 every 2 weeks.

Re: GSP Breathing Heavy

I think I have a bad liquid test kit, i follow the directions to a T with ALL of them, and no matter what tank I test, or how long it's been cycled, it comes out 0. I even tested my crap snail breeding tank and it came out, 0. Think the little guy will make it until I can get home to do a water chan...
