Re: Grocery Store visit.

So...he still isn't eating. Therefore dosing his food is useless. Even tried some new frozen bloodworms, in case mine were freezer burnt (I'm really graspin' at straws now).

I'm outta ideas.

I can testify to the red colour. I've got a red bass guitar that my f8 backs away from, if I get anywhere near the tank with it. He doesn't mind the black one.

He hates orange shirts too.

Re: Grocery Store visit.

So, I finally found a grocery store that has little neck clams. Brought 'em home and smashed one up. Put some little pieces in, and he wouldn't even go near it. I left it in overnight, just to see if he would pick at it when he was alone. Nothing. On another note, the only brand I could find was TET...

Re: Grocery Store visit.

i noticed it one night when i fed that one of the F8 had a bloodworm between the top plates and was sticking out of its mouth Yep, exactly...then he spits it out. I'll try the "clam" thing, but if it goes like the mussels did, it'll just make one hell of a mess outta the tank. My grocery ...

Re: Grocery Store visit.

Thanks Volcom, me too. Found the dentistry section in the library. He doesn't look anything close to those guys in the pictures. It would seem that overgrown teeth isn't the problem after all. Pulled out all of the remaining mussels pieces and bloodworms from his tank last night. Got some more snail...

Ya, I guess you could say that, but just a little bit. The first picture shows it open a little bit. That's the way he's swimmin' around these days.

Re: Grocery Store visit.

Ya, that's what I'm trying to do. This camera is pretty limited. These are the best I could get, I hope that they're good enough so you can get a good look at his beak (more to the message after the pics) : IMGP1085.JPG IMGP1081.JPG IMGP1082.JPG He's definitely lost a lot of weight. The mussels didn...

Trying to get a picture of him for you guys, but he won't stay still. Every picture is just a blur.

Re: Grocery Store visit.

they aren't a very good staple food Oh noes. I was grossly misinformed by my fish store. He's been eating nothing but bloodworms for almost a year now. He has had only had a treat of snails TWICE in that time. I feel so bad. :( I'll try and get a picture of him tonight for you. Just don't look at t...

Re: Grocery Store visit.

Ah...I never thought to crush the snails. He just sucks them out, and my tank just has shells laying at the bottom. He won't choke on the shards, if I break them up? Not sure if his beak is long-long, but I thought that it might be the main reason he's stopped eating the bloodworms. I read on here a...

Grocery Store visit.

Okay, so I just joined up last night, after having Stevesy (my Figure 8 puffer) for just under a year. He's been doing great, but has decided that he's bored with his frozen bloodworms. The frozen crab from the fish store just lays on the bottom of the tank, and messes up the tank. I've gone to the ...
