Great replies, thanks. I feed cats after lights out anyway, even have to put a blanket on most of the tank to prevent other fish from stealing the tablets so I don't anticipate a problem there. Granulates and flake food however will.

But if you co-house them with other fish and thus have to use other foods, they will eat those and not wear down their incisor plates.
