Re: Baby Fahaka Puffer not growing

Out of concern and due too the high protein diet you really should be doing more water changes along with wiping down the glass.
Consider prazipro to see if maybe tape worm is the cause . Good luck .

Re: LED lights for a 40g Breeder

I have the 48inch Mr aqua led fixture and find it to be a great bang for the buck it has 8000k bulbs and many of them I have been running it problem free for around 1.5 years and the unit is competitive to finnex ray but beware of many low quality rip offs I grow medium light plants with no problems...

Re: Notice from water company

Only thing I could think of is buying some bottled R O water / distilled and cutting your tap water by 50 percent to bring the high levels to normal and add a little of seachem prime or safe to help remove anything else that can be a problem in the water you might need to remineralize the water depe...

Re: Worming My Congo Puffer

Fresh water fish absorb desolved oxygen through the gill plate membrane so if there is medication or even amonia present in the water the fish will indeed at some point have the medicine in there body . If you have a headache you take a tylonal swallow and 30 mins later your headache is gone but yet...

Re: Worming My Congo Puffer

I use to breed and raise discus and when I was first learning I went out and bought a bunch of discus from a local store and at the time didn't know how to tell from improper shape to being stunted so at the time I went simply for the colors and out of the group I had a blue diamond discus that wasn...

Re: MBU not doing so well

Didn't tell the guy to stop using it simply giving my opinion and a warning . Very often when helping people with fish or water issues is 2 things in common 1 is a poorly maintained cannister filter and 2 way too much gravel in the tank. plus the way most cannister filters are designed they will adv...

Re: MBU not doing so well

I think this is a prime example why I don't use cannister filters because they are ticking time bombs .Many people fall behind on maintenence in them because they can over filter very well but when you get behind on cleaning the filters are just feeding amonia to your fish They are a pain to clean a...

Tds is 140 ppm
But I'm a bit concern with my phosphate level in my tap water which is 3.5 ppm are puffers sensitive to phosphates in higher levels ?
