The other thing is that as the article stated they are predators in the wild so they establish hunting grounds to compete for food......aquariums aren't the ocean if you take out the reason for aggression (hunting for food) and feed both ur puffers equally there should be no reason for aggression.

So........I shouldn't get a masked to go with my dog in a 140g lol? Puffers seem to be more aggressive with age is that even if they grow up together from "baby's" dosent seem to make sence that a creature would be anti social 100% at an adult age that gets triggered in their adolescents.

Umm....eels, frogfish, lion fish, I'd really really love a v-tailed grouper (max size of 10") would the grouper work? There faster then puffers so I'd have to make sure the puffer gets his food

Dog faced and masked?
Hey guys I've set up my 140g system and it houses a lone dog faced puffer, he's my boy I wanted to know if I could put a masked puffer with him? I know dogs are one of the least aggressive and masked are about the same, but I wanted the opinions of the professionals

i agree seven, but to my knowledge its only the female that has a full blown "lure" dangler so if i got a male hes be ok, ill do some more reseach online and see if anyone has sucesfully kept the pair

was planning on putting the majority of the rock in the refugium only bout 30 lbs in display for more room, ill skip the grouper then, but i dont see an issue having a dfp and a "smaller" frogfish they stay on different levels of the tank and its going to be over filtered if thats the worr...

ummm...seven year night its a 101 gallon WITH a 50g refugium....so a 150 gallon system please actually read the post b4 u voice an opinion making yourself look.......silly a 12' DFP 5"frogfish and a 11" grouper should have no problem living in a LONG 150 gallon system..........

hi, im currently setting up a 72"x18"x18" tank (101gallon) FOWLR main reason is to have a dogfaced puffer...how can u not want one.... anyways ive been doing alot of research and the other fish ill be able to keep with him are a similiar sized lionfish, maybe a niger trigger, and here...

im assuming 48x24 is tons of room for a 12" fish and most that ive seen dont swim vertically.....
