Where in the house?

Okay, so my gsp Chomper used to be upstairs in the livingroom where me and all my roommates usually hang out....
We upgraded him to a larger tank but it doesn't fit anywhere in the livingroom. So we put him in the basement and it looks great!...but...
We don't hang out in the basement too much, we do sometimes,. but no very often. So I've been making a point of going down there and giving him attantion and stuff, but here's my question...

How much attantion do they need from outside their tank??? Will he get depressed if he's not surround by people all day??

Difficult question, my Sabahensis is in an upstairs bedroom and i'm not in there very often but I try and spend 10-15 minutes interacting with him a day, even if its just acknowledging him when i get to the top of the stairs and peer into the room. His eyesight is better than mine.

Can you put it behind the couch? Or just forget about furniture & keep the tank!

Deck the basement out with a pool table and a mini bar, problem solved ;)

I have often thought this about putting a tank in my hallway but then I wouldn't sit and enjoy it. I'm not sure if it would bother the fish but it would bother me not getting the interaction with them
