Hi all,
I have just gotten my fahaka 2 days ago and it has not been eating much for the first day but it has begun eating more on the second day.. Also it has been burrowing every now and then.. Just wondering is burrowing a sign of being stressed? The fahaka looks fine.. poo is not stringy and stomach is not sunken in.. Or maybe it just needs to settle in more?

It seems that juvie fahakas tend to burrow. How large is it? does it have enough cover?

Every type of puffer can take awhile to settle into their new surroundings. As long as he has started to eat, I wouldn't worry too much.

its about 2 inches with tail.. my tank does have enough cover.. it likes to hide under one of the drift woods...

it just keeps 'chilling out' at the bottom of the tank.... under the drift woods and stuff

darn its just so amusing how they managed to get the gravel on top of their heads while burrowing haha.. anyway he seems to burrow after eating... any idea why? feeling safe? or? i also have some ghost shrimp there but they are too fast for him maybe when he grows bigger..
