The Puffer Forum

Since the Brackish puffer forum is locked, I am gonna post it here and move it later, lol. I am so excited. I had to drive 131 miles to get it and it was $50, but I got a fugu. He is so beautiful. I know the track record on these, but I don't intend to lose him. He's a little beaten up, but was in much better shape than the rest. Man, is he aggressive. I now know that he will not tolerate tank mates as he ate one and maimed the other one He will be a singleton. He loves to bury himself to. It didn't take long for me to figure out that this is my favorite of my puffers.

BTW, glad to see the board is back up. Was anyone else having problems the last couple of days?

Were you looking at the brackish puffer *gallery* forum?

The problems seem to be related to a server crash; things are back online now but the forum may be a bit wiggy. Please let us know if you notice any glitches.

Bred, thanks for moving the thread. Glad to see the forum back up. I haven't noticed anything wrong since it has been up, but it is not keeping me logged in. However, that may just be my firewall.

I'm the guilty party, as it was still in General, but that matters not.

I had to get rid of my McAfee firewall due to incompatabilities/blocks. PITA.

This puffer is absolutely amazing. I already love him so much. He has a swollen gill, which i will treat at the next water change. I don't want to stress him out too much right after i got him. I feel like a kid in a candy store. I remember Woland saying how beautiful they are, which I whole heartedly agree. He is about 3.5 to 4". I wish I had a decent camera to post pics, but mine sucks. Maybe Santa Claus will bring me one, lol. Between diving, back surgery, this move to Florida, and my puffers, I stay broke. I am gonna try him at low brackish as if he were a F8. Someone posted that one had been alive for years under those conditions. The way he loves to eat live foods, I think that maybe part of him being healthy, living for the hunt and all. *I'm reaching here* I have a few fish that bear live young and I quarantine gut loaded ghost shrimp, which he already loves. Throw some crickets in, some worms, and he should be happy enough. He is very active and curious though, so the 20 long is not good enough for him. I am gonna get him a 60 gallon all to himself after I move. I really want to keep him alive for many years to come. If anyone has any helpful suggestions on him, please let me know.

Good luck. Someone will crack this mystery one day. Let's hope it's soon, as these fish seem to be getting quite common.
