Losing the Salivator

I'm fighting a losing battle with him at the moment, its almost seems like he's swallowed some air, i've attempted burping him several times but with no success. He's constantly bloated and I mean fully bloated up, sometime the keels are up also. He has lost balance over the last 2 days and has stopped eating.
I think i'm gonna have to put him out of his misery tonight when I get home.
Rubbish!

That is such a shame Hilly, but I am sure you have done all that you can to help the little guy.

Used my remaining flubenol on him, melafix, pimafix, water changes, nitrates never get above 5 in that tank and he showed no improvement, his mouth was fully open so I thought it might have been an aeration issue at one point but adding an airstone didnt help.
Anyway I have just got home and he was gone. Gutted.

Cheers folks, i'm not gonna replace him for now, gonna tear down the tank, disinfect everything and put it onto storage, first the F8, now the Salivator, i'll be damned if I lose any more.

I've been there too mate. About 6 months ago I lost 5 fish in 3 weeks, even though I could attribute mine to old age I still kept looking for a reason why it was happeneing.

It's always the way, months and months go by with no problems, then all of a sudden you lose several.

I'm sorry. I know how you feel though, sometimes I feel like I can't do anything right with mine. Especially with Lil not getting better.

the highs are so high when things are well but the lows can be so crushing. Lets hope that things will be on the up soon
