You are beating your head against a brick wall. Some people refuse to accept that they don't know what they are doing or could be wrong. You gave good advice with what bad/incomplete info they gave, they became defensive and their minds then shut down At this point, doesn't matter what you or anyone else says, they've become hostile and won't listen to anyone.

Thanks Boxermom, thats what I needed to hear.

Check the link again, it became quite a heated debate. (Which I stayed out of, not worth the time).

Thanks again,

Maximus.

P.s It has changed alot since I was last here :P

Yes and no.

They can be kept with tankmates, with the proper precautions and always a back up tank ready incase things start to go wrong.

My only real problem is if the cichlids eventually mate and gang up on the puffer, and that he understands the dental issue. The stocking doesn't seem so bad otherwise, since keyholes are pretty mild (though still cichlids) and SAP's rarely turn on tankmates.

Of course, he could have a tiny tank too, notice he keeps avoiding telling the gallons...

Thanks for replying, here, and there :)

The tank size was worrying me too - "It's a four footer mate".

And the fact that he really is underestimating the teeth problem.

"I'll put some shells in ther too" < I don't see how that will help at all really.

Thanks again, I'll update you on his reply too :)

I would also be concerned about whether they are adding "cichlid salt" to the water.
