I am intrested in getting a Fahaka for my 100 gallon tank.
Reading up on the limited information I got on Fahakas, I have some concerns.

First off will my tank be large enough to house it when it is fully grown?

I know its a very aggressive specie with powerful jaw and teeth, so will I forever be in fear of losing one of my pinkies whever I put my hands into the water?

Are Fahaka's aggressive towards thier owner also?

Lastly I would love to see more pictures or read up more on Fahakas, is there a good source of information out there?
I know about Pufferlist, but I need more info then what they have there.

I have kept three of them.

One of them I would not, could not, put my hand in the tank without the fish being the other side of a "securely" braced divider. He attacked anything and everything that came ito the tank. Total bezerker. At over a foot, he could have taken a small finger or done pemanent damage.

One of the others was just a nomal aggresive fish. The third was a wuss.

Pretty much the full range of aggresive behavior possible from fish, and there is no way to predict what an individual will show. None were very bad until they were mature (2-3 years).

What are the dimensions of the tank? IMO they should have a minimum of 24" for the smallest tank dimension as without stunting they will definitely exceed a foot in length and can make a foot and a half.

My fahaka went through a period of about a month as a Junvenile where he would nip my hands. He was only maybe 2.5" at the time, so no damage done, and he seems to have grown out of that... Thankfully.

There are of course tricks to making your fingers look as little like itty wiggly shrimp as possible. But ultimately, as RTR says, it's down to the individual fish.
