Taming Pufferfish

Hi guys I'm trying to tame my puffer so that he is not afraid of me any suggestions?, the puffer i am hoping to tame is a 7" Fahaka.

How long have you had him? If you look at him and play with him through the galss and feed him he should warm up to you soon

I have had him for only a week maybe im a bit impatient.

You cant domesticate fish really.

Mine was very dull for a long time. Sat in the corner, didn't do anything. now his face lights up when i enter the room, he springs into action, and zooms into the corner where he's fed.


Just be patient.

Just let him get used to you slowly. Don't tap on the glass, make faces, get too close other than feeding time, and let him become accustomed to his new home. It can sometimes take them several months to settle in.

What size tank is he in? Are there any other fish in with him?

He is in a 4ft tank on his own and eating well
