hello there! bein browsing the forum for a while now looking for caring tips etcetc. got my self a redeye puffer the other day after having my tank cycling for a good while until it was ready to go!
got my tank nicely planted and with lots of hiding, with bogwood and a sand base.

the puffer is a female n is currently about an inch long! has a white belly with a patterned back which is yellowish and black> red eyes with green in the middle! any ideas what kind she is! what size will she grow and also am i ok just feeding her daily on frozen bloodworm and snails?
any advice appreciated!?
ps. ive also got a few female bettas and a male fighter too. 5 glowlight tetras n some baby betta fry in different tanks of course

The tank sounds perfect, as for ID its hard to say without a picture. Have a look in the pufferpedia for some clues. From your description it could be either a Carinottetraodon Lorteti or C. irrubesco. Like I say a photo will help

Try this: Only give her food she takes from a glass dropper you are holding. When you are closely connected with food arriving, your puffer will develop affectionate behaviors.

My red-eye girl likes to cruise her plants, but as soon as she associated me with food, she started to come out to meet me. Now I see her nearly every time I go past the tank!
