I had just cycle'd a new larger tank for my pair of puffers when I noticed they had Ich, now ive not dealt with it before but after reading the library Ive a good idea how to treat them.

Raised the temp, put half dose of anti-white spot in. After about a week Only the male has a few spots on now, so it seems better at least.

My question is, I have a fully cycle'd new tank - If I move the puffers into that tank would it help clear it quicker? I would treat the water so any Ich that comes off them should be dealt with quickly, at least I would of thought. Am i right in thinking that or am I just looking to cause more problems?

oh, and if I dont mov them how long am I usually looking at it clearing up?

Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - cant remember exact figure without looking but it was low

Please read the article on treating ich that is stickied at the top of this forum. No chemicals are needed, just salt and heat, and it must be treated for at least 2 weeks from the time you see the last spot on them or else it will come back. I'd leave them where they are until treatment is finished or you will infect the new tank with the parasites.
