Marine for Ceylon

Well, I've had my Ceylon Puffer for around 7 months now and he is doing eceptionally well. My question is, he is at 1.008 sg at the moment. When should I be looking at going full Marine with him. Not sure how old he was when I bought him and not sure what age is classed as adult???? He is around 3.5 - 4 inches at the moment.

Thanks for any help

As you said, he's doing very well now, so no sweat, although I'm sure he would like a bit more salt.

Most people don't move their GSPs & Ceylons to full marine until they are a bit bigger, but I moved my GSPs when they were 3 - 3.5 inches. I moved them to an SG og 1.026 over the course of about 6-8 months.... and they've been like that now for 2-3 years. They're just as active as they ever were, if not more so -- and the tank is much easier to manage (once I had set up the appropriate decor and equipment).

Cool....so as long as he's happy I guess I can leave him for a while, right?

You've got time, he's half grown so you could raise it a little more if you wish and then see how he does. Your choice really.

Not to hijack, but Petpirate, how does the GSP growth rate change as they get over 3"? Another thread was curious how quickly they reach full size.
