active freshwater puffers

um I have been looking around the pufferpedia and I haven't really found any active tetraodons. If you know of any please post. They have to be tetraodon because I can get the local fish store to order them in.
If you find one please post a pic of the puffer

what if I put in a divider or would that not leave enough room for 2 puffers??

If these are for the 35 gallon you mentioned in a previous post there would be enough room in terms of gallonage for 2 cochinchinensis but what are the dimensions of the tank?

Depends on the type of puffer and size of the tank.

I think the tank is 3 feet in length and 1 foot back

I'd have thought one fangs either side of a divider would be ok with 18" of length and 12" width each to roam around. It could work for you.

If you're really looking for active FW puffers, I'd go with the South American (Colomesus asellus).

My C. irrubesco is pretty active, but I've heard of others having irrubescos who just hide all the time. My female is extremely inquisitive and whenever she isn't sleeping, she's either begging, eating/attempting to eat, or "on the hunt." I say "attempting to eat" because she tests daily to see if rocks and plastic plants have become edible. She's a lot of fun to watch, especially when she goes a-hunting for snails (I drop them all over her tank so she has to find them).
In your 35 you could possibly keep a male and two female irrubescos, but make sure to have another place available in case anyone turns out to be a bully (this goes for all species of puff).
