Last week I switched my fig 8 puffer into his new 29 gallon tank near the side of my bed. Plenty of hiding caves and plants, and hes living kingly. My question is in due time would it be ok to add another as I heard from some members on aquariacentral, or would they bother each other? And if not a puffer, would 3 or 4 BB gobies be ok since they both like 1.005 SG? I want my puffer now to stay happy, but if possible to add another without bothering him I defintely would want to do that, the more the merrier (Plus I love saveing them from the horrible conditions at my pet store).

BTW has penguin emperor 400 filter.

I think that if you want more than one it is generally safer to add them at the same time. It may be worth moving the decor before you add the new puffer as you current one has his own territory marked out and the new pufff could be seen as an intruder. The othere thing to consider is definately BB gobies.

Moved to brackish tanks

If the tank has been cycled properly, then adding another puffer or some BBGs would work out well in your tank. Be sure to quarantine the new additions.

You might be able to get away with adding a chromide or two. I've just added three orange chromides to my 46 gal tank. They are getting along well with my F8 and 3 bumble bees. They produce a lot of waste though. I'm not sure on their exact gallon needs; however they don't grow too large.

how about knight gobies and f8s?
