Hello, I have an empty 180 and think I would like a Fahaka. I have a Porc. and he is awesome, very interactive, are F/W puffers like the Fahaka the same?? Do they have "personality"?? any advice about their care and feeding etc?? 180 is big enough yes?

Great! sounds like I finally made up my mind. I was leaning toward Piranha, but heard they were not very interatcive. My tapwater ph is 8.3, do I need to lower it to keep a Fahaka or will it aclimate to it??

Pufferpunk, your bio says you have Plecos in with your Fahaka, how is that possible? Everything I have read says Fahakas will destroy anything in their path?

Haven't you heard? PP has a killer pleco, so aggressive that it even attacks her Python during water changes. A real beast from what I've heard, right PP?

Your GH and KH measurements are going to be more important than your PH... Although PH 8.3 seems rather high. Did you test your water straight from the tap, or after it had settled for 24+ hours?

Fahakas are wonderful fish to keep.

Even the most aggressive pleco can still be eaten by a killer fahaka. i just wound up with a 1 in a million kind-hearted fahaka, that just nips a few fins once in a while. He is in a fully stocked 125g tank.
