Suvatti tank question

Hey guys, I've had my suvatti for about 2 years and he's a good 4 inches right now. He's in a 30 gallon tank and appears to be doing pretty good. So here's my problem:
I am graduating this may and am going away to college. Most likely the biggest tank i could fit in my dorm room would be a 20 gallon. Is there any way I could take my fish with me?
I would have to drive out there for about a day and a half is that feasible with a fish? What about water chemistry changes from the move?
The biggest concern for me is the tank size though. I would appreciate any feedback you guys have.

Is it a 20 long? I'd bring along some Bio-Spira (kept cool) to cycle the tank, when you get there. I'm not really thrilled about college folks taking their tanks with them to school. What will you do duing breaks? Does the dorm allow pets?

yea I hear you about the break thing, but I've checked with the school and its ok, my longest breaks are about a week and a half, so thats not too bad. Yea it would be a 20 long. I'll definatly do the biospira thing
