Yes, that is a Green Spotted Puffer (GSP). You might be interested to read about them in the Library, here:

He's a cutie..looks well and healthy. Have you got him in freshwater?
Have you kept a brackish tank before? If not, come straight back for advice on raising the specific gravity of his water, as he'll need to go quite salty over the course of his life.

hey guys thanks for all the help! i have kept a brackish tank before, but when i moved i had to take it down and sell it. right at the moment he is in freshwater, i am waiting for my lfs to get a shipment of the aquarium salt so i can start up his new home

Be sure to make that a commercial salwater mix, not the aquarium salts that am intended for medical purposes.

This may just be semantics but you need to use
marine salt, not aquarium salt.

Thanks guys!! glad to be here...This little guy is definitly entertaining to watch!! In his tank there are baby kribs...i was breeding them, i traded the parents in for this guy, but there were still babies in the tank, surprisingly he isn't constantly trying to eat them, only when i feed him some freeze dried krill, he will take a couple bites out of the krill and then start trying to get the babies!!
