i got a new arrow head puffer and could use a little help thanks in advanced

i found plenty of info on diet and how often to feed him but i cant seem to find any info on how much food to give him in each sitting how do i know how much is enuff?

can he be kept with other fish at all if so any recommendations?

what kind of plants does he like?

any other advice or recommendations on care or feeding will be greatly appreciated.

There are others with more experience but generally, no other tankmates. How much food depends on the size of the fish, as does how often to feed. Their stomachs shouldn't bulge but should be nicely rounded.

Since this "lurker" puffer isn't very active, it isn't necesary to feed daily, unless it's a baby. How big is it? How big is it's tank? How did you cycle the tank?

hes about 3 to 3 and a half inch's and i cycled the tank for about 3 weeks with gold fish in it and it's a 30 gallon tank

2x/week is fine then.

Please do not keep with any other fish my 6 month old suvatti's have shreaded everything i have put in their tank...i have vidio evidence of the mess they make (science made me record it!) of platties and sword tails for a start! I will post it if asked but it is not for the faint of heart!

They will tolerate each other but thats it, and only then at a distance for the most part, they have there moments of being cute together but not often atm.

I feed mine who are smaller ( 2 inch ish) at least once every other day...live bloodworm, snails, prawns, muscles, cockles, all on rotation...trick is to keep the food moving and try to make them hunt for it a little. They get as much as keep there interest in a few minutes. normally no more than a couple of small prawns, or muscles, but they will kill snails for fun all day long if they could.

Make sure they have hiding places, caves etc and as for plant cover mine live elodea for some reason..i have some variety ( not good at plant names sorry) and lots of water changes twice a week minimum 50% cos they really are messy eaters.

I have gravel substrate in my tak, but am seriously thinking about changing to sand, that will possibly effect plants.
