The Puffer Forum

We went to Brighton today to visit one of our favourite LFS's and thay had a new puffer in they we haven't seen before. He was labelled a red eye puffer or T Liurus puffer,and was for sale at £13.50 He was very unlike any of the puffers we have seen before. He was about 3 to 4 " long, similar in body shape to a fahaka puffer but with spots all over his back similar to a duboisi puffer. He had a white tummy.He was extremely active and inquisistive and had blue eyes and maybe the hint of an eye spot on either side of him at the back.
Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with my and although I attempted to take a photo with my mobile it was an appalling picture so if he is there next week I will try again.
Any ideas as to what he could be?? He was such a sweetie and we fell in love with him but sadly have no tank space available right now.

sounds a lot like the puffer i jus picked up
and some has told me its a turgidus
maybe its the same because the one i picked up was labeled the same

Sounds like the same as mine too. It was sold as a t. leiurus (I guess it's the same as yours), and the guesses her at TPF is a turgidus.

If it has eyespots and is active it isn't an M. turgidus. I would bet that it's a T. cochinchinesis.

I was thinking cochinchinesis myself
I will take my camera next time and try and get a snap

That's what I thought mine was but I've been told by several that its a turgidus.
