Someone today told me that there is two different kinds of fahakas...one gets bigger then the other is that true???

Not according to anything I've read so far.

Any species as widespread as the fahaka is likely to have regional variants, depending on the degree of isolation or mixing of the local inhabitants with the wider gene pool. There have been persistant stories of variant fahaka populations, but SFAIK none of these has been proven or even reasonably well characterized.

GSPs are likely the most widespread species of puffer, and they may well have subspecies or even differnt species within what we now label GSP, but the work has not been done to show this, even though we do know that there are regional variants. Even the differentiation of the GSP and the Ceylon has been questioned, but the standard forms of both are sufficiently distinct to justify separate species - which may be closely related. Whether or not hybrids or even hybrid populations exist is unknown.

You probably mean the one from lake Rudolf (lake Turkana now). Was described as distinct subspecies by Deraniyagala in 1948, but almost never importet. The largest ones ever found in this lake AFAIK were 7 cm.
