It seems as if one of my fig 8's has a swollen eye. Its sticking out a good amount more than the other eye. Im trying to get pictures but I still havent got a good one but I will post them when I get them. There doesnt seem to be any bite marks around the eye or anything like that. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do or why this might have happened.

Can you get a photo? Any additional info on his tank might help - size, water parameters, tankmates, etc.

Tank is a 60 gal. with 3 fig 8's.
Water - ammonia - 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 5.0 - 10.0
salinity - 1.006

Here is a link to the best pic I can get right now (its the eye on the right). I will try to get better pics tomorrow. Its not a very good pic but you can get the idea of it being swollen. On another note he didnt seem to eat as much as usual when feeding today which is when I discovered the eye.

Treat w/Melafix.

I would treat with epsom salt, and Melafix
Epsom salt to draw out the fluid, thus reducing the swelling and relieve the pressure, melafix to prevent any secondary infections.

Apprx 1 tablespoon/5gal of water of epsom salt

Has the swelling gone down at all?

Well heres an update. Sorry it took so long but I was busy and snow put off the treatment for a few days. I've been treating with melafix for the past 4 days now and the swelling doesnt seem to be going down. Hes also not been eating for the past 2 days (he ate a little fri but nothing sat). Its not looking good any suggestions or should I just hope for the best? Its kinda sad because he was my first puffer.
