as u know, i had my eyes on a fahaka puffer at my lfs that got sold on monday
anyway, this particular fahaka looked like a smaller version of Martha. very clear pink colour.
is it rare to find a fahaka of this colour? as ive noticed many seem quite brown in comparison, or does this come with age?
or does it just depend on the individual?

I was hoping mine would color up like Martha but he didn't. Love him bunches, just the same.

The colour is primarily down to the substrate. Alter the colour of the substrate and the puffer will alter its colour.

the substrate is going to be sand...
yeh ive seen lots of colour variation in fahakas kept in black gravel and those kept in sand.
altho i guess ultimately its going to be down to luck if i find another nice pink one like martha?

I don't mean to take anything away from martha, but she always looked a little "photoshopped" to me. And I don't mean that in a nasty way.
I keep mine on sand and don't get those vibrant pink stripes, they're more maroon.

Linus is on river pea gravel (tans and browns) and looks to be pinkish-brown with yellow interspersed over the top of his body.
