Hi All,
I recently got 2 F8 puffers which I put in my 120lt tank. All has been well until last night when I noticed that one of them had a cloudy eye. When I woke up this morning both eyes have gone cloudy. The other puffer is not affected.
The SG is 1.002 as I have only been raising it by 0.001 per week.
Test results are :
Ammonia 0
Nitrate Green on the Tetra test kit <0.3ppm I think that is
Nitrate 10 again tetra kit.

Any advice and help is much appreciated.

Is it really cloudy and not just the membrane on the eye? A picture would help

It could be the membrane. My camera broke last night while trying to take some pics

Water change. If its really cloudy eye, just keep the water pristine by doing water changes and it should go away. My GSP gets it all the time whenever I rearrange his tank. A few days of water changes clears it up.

I recently had a similar incident...I was pretty sure mine was an abrasion, or an injury inflicted by another tank mate.
I treated the tank with Epsom salts and added melafix/primafix for a week...(better if you have a QT tank to put him in...but can be done in the display tank) Add about 1 tablespoon/gal of water (epsomsalt)
...do a water change(50%) before you start to ensure you water conditions are immaculate (yours are pretty good already...but it cant hurt)

The Epsom salts help reduce any swelling/inflammation, and the melafix/primafix sooth and help prevent any secondary infections.

The eye started clearing up with in 2 days..and was clear by the end of the weeks treatment.

Definately keep the water as clean as possible. Lots of water changes. Usually it clears up right away.

Thanks Hilly. Even the fins didn't look right. Looked almost as if it had fin rot as well.
