hmmm, i have noticed over the last couple of weeks or so that 2 of my sauvattii stop eating every time i do a water change and start eating again about 2-3 days later. anyone got any ideas. i do 30% with water conditioner every week. the other one just eats and eats,lol
i feed them prawns, cockles, shrimps, etc every 2 days.

what size are they now?

How much water are you changing at one time? What conditioner are you using? Are you adjusting the temperature to match the tank water?

i change 25% of the water each week at the same temp as the tank and add API tapwater conditioner. they are about 4 inches total length at the mo.

Do you know whether your water provider uses chloramine in the water? I fthey do you may need to use a higher dose of conditioner and leave it a while longer before adding to the tank. It's just a thought, you can get the info from you water board as it is all in the public domain. At four inch they are big puffers. mine at the size would only get two feeds a week, sometimes only one.
Even now when i offer twice a week they often refuse.

Ditto what Rocker said. I feed my 4-5" puffers once or twice a week, no more than that. Especially the lurkers who don't move much.

my water does have chloramine in but in very small doses. my other 40 + tanks are all fine so i don't think this is a problem. i do agree that it is probably just they don't need to feed as you said.
i fed them yesterday and all 3 fed well, so i did a weekly water change and will try them again in a few days. perhaps just feed once or twice a week from now on.
