one of my puffers belly has darkened and his tail his curled sometimes.

i moved some ornaments around, well infact i took out an ornament and put in a piece of slate to make a cave, and this really stressed out my puffer, he started racing round the tank and kept trying to jump out, being quite violent in his attempts.


he was obv very stressed by it all, and since then his belly has darkened and hes not as active as before. hes still eating well.

should i just leave him alone for a while? im obv not going to move anythign else in the tank for a while, but ive continued to feed him as hes still taking it.

is there anything else i need to do?

Just leave him to it, I remove all the decor every week to give the tank a clean, it used to stress him a bit and one time, he had a dark ring on his belly for a week. He obviously didnt appreciate my interior design skills on his tank.

But just to make sure have you checked his water parameters to make sure nothing is amiss.

hi yeh i did a water test to make sure it wasnt anything else and all parameters are spot on.

he has lightened up slightly since yesterday, but still very dark and hiding quite a bit.

cant blame him tho i guess given how scared he was when i moved the decor. he tried to jump out several times, scared the life out of me!
