Can I confirm ID of these two?

Hi all,
I Am new to keeping Puffers and I have 2 of these beauties. I think that they are Ceylon/Topaz but can you guys/gals confirm it for me. If so am I right in thinking they need brackish water. I have had many conflicting reports from various LFS's. They are currentyl in a community (180L) freshwater but recently have slowed down and feeding has dropped off.
Cheers for any tips. I am prepared (and so is the wife!!) to get another tank set up for them if needed.

Definitely Ceylons. You're gonna need around 80 gallons to keep the pair, they are brackish fish and as they reach adulthood they will want a high end brackish to marine environment.

it's around 300 litres.

My next question is, how long will these 2 be alright in a freshwater setup while I wait for the new tank to cycle? Do I need to try and find a temporary home for them?

Where are you? Can you get Bio Spira where you are? That will instantly cycle the tank if you pour it into the filter and transfer them immediately.

In nature they can be in fresh water for several weeks. Because they were in your store for some time and probably went through at least 4 weeks of quarantine (probably also fresh water) before, they should go back to brackish water soon.

I am in Farnham, Surrey. We have a Maidenhead aquatics nearby, so I am off there later. I have a mate who works for a public aquarium so he has agreed to look after them while I get the new one set up.
My wife is loving this, another new tank, lol
