Is there anything I can keep with this puffer? He's on his own at the moment in a 3 foot tank, will be moving him on to the 4 foot tank after the new year.I was thinking about a Plec of some sort,Bristlenose perhaps?Or would it get attacked and die ?:(

some one will correct me if i'm wrong. Targets tend to be solitary puffers. with most of these species it's up to us to keep the tanks clean. every once in awhile i'll buy a flying fox or otto to do some clean up, knowing that it will be food in less than 48 hours.

I wouldn't even consider putting anything in with mine.

I hesitate putting my finger in. Mine really goes for me.

Just as I thought then.He even eats MTS and I thought most Puffers left them alone as their shells are too hard.He eats through them like butter. After seeing the way he takes chunks out of shrimp,I'm reluctant to put my hands in.

Most puffers won't exactly ignore them but may try to bite thru the shells & crack/chip their teeth.

Mine was okay with a few baby fish I put in there for a few weeks, then he got hungry... He has never bothered the pleco he is housed with though.

mine seems to be okay with my hand in the tank sometime for cleaning, but only sometimes, and on his terms
