Thanks for the quick response!!!

He is about 2 & a half inches from tip to tail...I have left him in the dark since I brought him hope and I'm hoping he will settle in nicely

One thing the guy did say to me at the LFS he said when I feed it i need to put the food right in front of the puffers nose for him to eat it...is that right...of will the puffer find it if i simply drop it in the tank??

Some wild-caught puffers may not recognize "dead" foods as dinner.

I wouldnt drop it at the other end or the tank when his back is turned...but you shouldnt have to hold it either...mollusks are not exactly active.
You could try dropping some snails in..make sure he is watching...
If that doesnt work...try a prawn on a thread soaked in garlic guard...the movement and added scent may help...or annoy him enough so he takes a bite at it.
Failing that...one could throw in a handful of gut loaded ghost shrimp (live) He may not go for them right away...but if they pique his interest..they will vanish...plus he will enjoy the hunt.
