I've had mine over a year and she's grown about 1". They don't grow very fast, but imo if you keep one in anything smaller than a 15 gallon it will stunt.

With mine.... Both were approx 1.5-1.75 when they were bought. The one I got first was nearly 2x the size of the one I got later, and with in 10 months (roughly a year from purchase of the original one), they are almost the same size...the later one caught up rather quickly. They are both between 2.75 and 3" now...but that is a rough approximation. (I have never taken them out and laid them flat to measure)

I don't believe in stunting, at least in regards to the fish stopping growing while their internal organs continue to grow...I have yet to see it documented as such.

Having said that there are all sorts of health conditions that can arise, and be contributed in part to tanks too small for their occupants. Generally these a created by poor water conditions and lack of activity due to the reduced surface area of the tank

Well, IMO they will be fine in a 10g, for at least a little while. Mine was aproaching 1.5", and I don't think he would have needed a 15g until he was 2". The sooner they get the bigger tank though, the better. I was actually getting ready to give him a 20g, before he passed away from Parasites.

I agree with Peregrines opinions.
