i was looking at my puffer today and i can see tiny little white spots on his fins.
so ive treated the water with white spot treatment and raised the temp a bit, which ive read i should do to help kill the parasite.

should the white spot clear up after the week of treatment? im not sure, but i think the other puffer might have some tiny spots on his fins too, its hard to be sure tho.

is there anything else i should do?

it says to do 50% water change every other day, inc gravel vac.
should i do this immedietely before adding the next dose of treatment

Yes. I never use chemical treatment of ich, it causes more problems than it solves and often kills fish rather than curing them. All you need is the addition of salt and heat.

unfortunetely they are still in my freshwater community tank, so i think adding salt is a no no?
theres been an annoying delay in moving them to a brackish tank.
will heat be enough on its own? or shud i continue to use the treatment

Almost everything can tolerate the amount of salt used to treat ich - 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons. The more sensitive, scaleless fish are more likely to be adversely affected by chemicals than by the salt. Even snails and shrimp are fine with that amount of salt.

i have a clown loach in there at the mo, will he be ok? ive heard they are sensitive to salt.

also, is it aquarium salt, table salt or marine salt? silly question, but will go pick up whatever i need tomorrow morning

Aquarium salt is fine, any salt really. The clown loach should be fine with that minimal amount of salt.

How big is your tank and what all is in it?

Are the spots only on the fins?
have they multiplied or moved, if not, it's possible they could just be breaks in the fin where previous damage has occurred.

the spots on the one puffer seem to have appeared over night. he began with a white smudge on his tail, which i thought perhaps is just him. but i noticed some little spots on all his fins, albeit only perhaps a couple on each. the other puffer, im still debating, it looks like it could be the fin breaks like u say, i hadnt really noticed before until this other puffer came out in spots, so now im of course lookin really closely.
i'll get some marine salt today then.

i have a rio 125, 30 gallons.
it has 2 angels, 2 rams, 2 dwarf gouramis, 5 danios, 1 clown loach, and 3 plecs.
all are still baby size.
