another question on pacing

So, I know this is a rather common topic but I've pretty much tried it all. I've added a background and also more decorations but my fig 8 always seems to find the empty space on the glass and pace. I've tried covering all the glass sides with plants but my tank is a hex tank which is tall and its kinda hard. He has gone from pacing one side to going from one side to another side and pacing. Theres not much more room for decorations. Any help would be great.

What size is the tank? A hex may not have the length of swimming room your puffer needs to swim horizontally, so it swims vertically.

Mine only paces when I'm near the tank and though he may pace 2-3 sides of the tank, I'm pretty sure that's it. When i'm away from my desk and look from across the room, he's exploring the interior of his little world. Spy on your F8 away from where he can see you and see if maybe it's just a food-begging technique. Just an idea. . .

Mine only paces when I'm standing there looking at the tank as well. But when I'm not near it, and I happen to peek out of one room into the kitchen, I'll see her rumaging around in our rocks and plants so I know she's not bored. She just likes to beg =p
