Freshwater/Brackish

I have a question that I can't seem to get a straight answer to from my lfs. I ordered 2 F8 at my lfs a while ago and lost one as they very stressed and had ich when they arrived. I had ask my lfs if the f8's would arrive freshwater or brackish and was told to put in a 1 cup 16 tablespoons of marine salt and I did then when they arrived she said they were brackish but they would be ok.. they weren't but I don't know if it was the ich, stress from travel or not having the proper water.
I have now ordered another F8 (from another lfs) to replace the one I lost and am getting the same run around, I ask if it will arrive brackish or freshwater so I can prepare the water and all I get told is well there brackish fish and I'm sure the supplier would have them in what is best for them. Does anyone know if they are shipped in freshwater or brackish, am I worrying for no reason does it make that much difference? We have already lost one to stress and ich and want to give this new little guy the best chance he can have by putting him in the correct water when he arrives. Or is there an amount of salt I can have to fit either one? It’s a 30 gal tank with 20 tablespoons marine salt in it right now
