feeder snails in 1.005?

Am I going to kill feeder snails by putting them from FW into my fig8's light brakish tank? My puffer doesnt seem to notice them as food (at least in front of me), so if I added a few to the tank would they be 'ok' and perhaps eventually he'll figure out that they're food?

Thanks,

-Pete

The salt will "burn" them.

Maybe it would be worth putting only a couple in and see what happens. I put an otherwise freshwater ghost shrimp in my F8 tank thinking it would be eaten or otherwise succomb to the SG, but I found it in there months later still doing well.

like others have said, try crushing the shells before dropping them in.

Or you can do like i have been doing with my dwarf puffer(freshwater)...only feed him the snails and nothing else. My puff runs and hides when i approach the tank and doesn't notice food when i drop it in the tank. But i keep it stocked with snails and i always notice a nice full belly and the fact that he is growing is another sign.

Although, being brackish and the snails not lasting, you may want to disreguard my comment all together.
