Can still see the spikes in skin


As you can see he has little spikes that protrude and even stay there when he is deflated for about ten seconds...the whole thing from start to finish took about 30 seconds. He fights a bit to get the water out. Wiggles and looks at me blowing out water. It was funny and not cool at the same time. I wonder what could've stressed him.

Twice I've seen this in a week now. Ever since the tiny snowflake moray has been in the tank. But I watched him laying next to the eel yesterday looking at him for some time with no reaction whatsoever. I don't understand.

Wow. I have no idea why he's doing it.. Maybe he thought it was breakfast time?

Does your camera take videos? That would be one amazing video!

It does actually. Next time I'll try to do that...hopefully there won't be one anytime soon though.

And this folks is why you don't catch puffers in nets. Can you imagine!

Here he is what...not ten minutes later on his perch hangin out with his buddies like normal. As if nothing was ever wrong. What a freak! Where are the spikes? Skin is soft and smooth now.

heh, I guesstimated the 30 seconds but looking at the time stamping it turned out to be...exactly 30 seconds.

It WAS a good thing the camera was sitting there on the table from yesterday PP. I missed the last opportunity but was ready this time. In my b-day suit and dripping wet maybe but camera in hand takin pics nonetheless!

Next time it'll be video on youtube if google hasn't changed anything.

You never know what he was thinking. He could have just been vying for your attention by showing off like some Mubus have been known to do.

Photobucket now hosts videos too if you have an account there. Very useful.

My puffers do that from time to time. I heard they do that just to make sure they still know how! I had a stars and stripes and a snow flake eel and at night time I would look at the tank and the eel would be loosly wrapped around the puffer, so I would rule out the eel. It is pretty normal for the fish to blow up.
