Ok guys I really need help, We brought home 2 fig 8 today one has been off every sense she got here I left the lights off and let them adjust. She just sat in one place most of the time after about 3 hours turned on the light and waited a few min and fed some blood worms the other puffer ate really good, sick one ate nothing now she has come out and curled up in the front of the tank and I can see white salt like spots on her, the other one also has a few. I don't know how to treat them its a 30 gal tank with 1 cup sea salt in it the temp is 78. I put some Melafix in when I brought them home but didn't take out the carbon it was old about 2 wks and I wasn't treating for sickness just travel fighting between them. Please help I have read some but don't know where we fit salt or no salt do I use meds if so which ones? She looks like she won't make it to long at this rate.

As I explained in my post I did check and read up on ich, what I'm trying to find out is from what it says you treat saltwater and fresh different and I don't know what our tank would be considered

Since your fish has been kept in FW & you have a very nominal amount of salt in there, I wouldn't consider it BW jsut yet. Salt, heat & large water changes are in order.
