Hi
Finally I got the Tetraodon Suvattii (Arrowhead puffer) spawning on video camera. I have been so close but missed it a couple of times, so I was beginning to think if I ever would see how it happens.
So fare I have quickly made 1 picture from the video. Ill try to attach is or it can be seen here: http://www.schoopp.dk/fisk/images/kugle ... ing1_c.jpg
Is not the best quality, but you should be able to see the female has just laid the eggs and is starting to swim away. You can also see some of the eggs getting away in the water.
It is rather nice to see it. So many questions is answered now. .-) (well in my head anyway *S*).
Regards
Karina

Wow, very cool! Thanks for sharing.

The male looks like he has some egg on his face :P

If you manage to ever get it on video that would be awesome.

Great video, like it at the end where she dumps the rest of the eggs on the males head before swimming off.

That is an excellent video.
Noticed that the female turns lighter than the male at this stage.
Mine almost turned white!

Is the female bigger than the male?

She is a little bigger than the male. (but she also eat more) ;-)
Is your female also a little bigger than the mail?
My male is also more slim than the female

She can turn very white, but mostly she has a lot of black and gray spots. Her Arrow turn white from time to time at this stage.

my male is bigger than the female but not by much.
Her body will go very pale , light grey with the arrow going very white. Amazing to see the colour change.

Thanks for your comment. Also I is very happy to finally get the spawning on tape. Next time though, I’ll try to ask the male to move away a little ;-)

Rocker: Your female sound to be more ”colorful” than mine. It could be interesting to see if there is a difference in our fry. .-)

I have played with my recorded video and uploaded some more films.

This one of me trying to lean the fry to eat dead shrimp and shell, so there teeth get used. Only one of them is eating it so fare. It is also that one who is starting to pay a bit more attention to my fingers then I like. ;-)
Notices the fry belly’s. At this video they have not eaten since last night. At the video showing the fry eat close up, there belly’s are full… or almost full.

These one of the fry eating bloodworms

Ov- regarding to food and teeth, the fry like to eat snails. Not the shell, but the snail inside. Maybe you can try to put some small snails down to your fry and see what happens. :)
