ok so I came across a used 65gal long tank for only $75. the only thing wrong with it is that the top black trim is loose and cracked with a chunk missing out of it. is there a DIY fix or would I have to try to find a new trim piece somewhere?

If it's just for ascetics, you might be able to contact the manufacturer of the tank. Otherwise, it shouldn't affect the function of the tank.

um sometimes those trims are used to shore up the tank walls, i would find out (from the manufacturer) if the trim on yours does this.
