Well I finally got a DP from Petsmart...three of the six died during shipping...so I am not going to hold my breath on how long this one will last, but I will do my best to keep him alive. I had him with some goldfish at first...didnt work out so great so now he has his own 5 gallon tank.

He wouldn't have done well with the goldfish, they produce shed loads of waste and they're coldwater. He'll be much happier in that 5g you've got for him.

He Looks very nice.

With a little patience and perseverance and hopefully sooner rather than later he will eat.

Sad news, she didn't make it through the night...so I called petsmart and none of theirs did either...well I think they must have some pretty bad IP's or something cuz she said none of theirs make it past 2 days and most arrive dead during shipping. Well I think I will just stick to my GSP for now and save for a mbu or possibly a fahaka.

sorry to hear- I went to my lps and they had 3 gsp that didn't look good at all. My wife wanted one so bad- but they had black bellies and curled tails- layin on the bottom...I almost cried I felt so bad.

We got a fugu and he ate 2 krill and 2 snails lastnight- he was checkin out his new digs this morning- things look good so far!!

Unless you're absolutely minted and have a shed load of space for an absolute monster tank, saving for a Fahaka would be far easier than saving for an Mbu.

Thats what I was thinking...mbu's are monsters.

So are Fahaka's, they're just a more manageable size. :)

We have 3 Dp's in our planted 10g, So far so good. We also got ours from Petsmart, only LFS in this area that carries them. The original one we bought is alive and well, had him about a month now...

We got 2 females for him a couple weeks later and they both died practicly overnight. It was so sad too, one of them was "puffed up"... it was very sad. We go back the next day and it was like they cleared out the whole DP tank. I know they didnt sell that many in one day....

A week later we got two more about the size of a green pea with fins... I have never seen such a small DP before! So far they are doing ok... Had the new baby DP's for about a week now and they are eating.

Basiclly, I think you got some from the same bad batch as us... Sad how many dont make it.

I got 2 DP'd frpm PS as well. That was 2 weeks ago. They wouldn't eat the first day but I was only trying blood worms. Then I picked up some pond snails and it was a feeding frenzy. They are doing well so far.
