Hey everyone - I've had Hoover the Figure 8 for over a year now, and I finally had to trim his teeth tonight. I pulled out Jeni's article from TFH, and apart from needing a 4th drop of clove oil to really put Hoover under (he's a full 3" SL long and THICK around the waist) it wasn't too bad. I only wish my hands didn't shake so bad...I was rather nervous and had to steady them on the container I used to put him under.

So, now he's swimming around normal, but he hides every time he sees me. He'll like me better tomorrow when I toss him a cricket and he finds it much easier to eat the little buggie.

I did notice he appears to be missing one tooth plate on the upper right hand side. The upper left and bottom two are both there and needed trimming. I was pretty sure he was missing this tooth plate since I got him, but it wasn't until I pulled back his lips that I could really see it wasn't there. Oh well, nothing to do about it and it certainly hasn't slowed his eating.

Thanks Jeni for putting such clear instructions out, both here and in TFH.

Eric

The same thing happend to me the first time I trimmed their teeth, my hand shook too much. The second time it becomes easier.

Their little mouths, and teeth, are so relatively small...it reminded me of trimming my son's nails when he was a tot...oh how you hope your hands don't slip!
