i just bought a new tank(juwel 125L) for my beloved suvattii but it just feels so empty with only him in it. but the thing is, i cant seem to put any other fishes in with him because he eats EVEYRYTHING that moves!! be it smaller or bigger fishes.

so my question is, do you guys/gals know about any species that goes well along with the arrowhead? i mean there must be some fish out there who can live in peace with my puffer. and im not talking about some smaller fishes that are faster than the suvattii, because that would only aggravate him(and in the end, he would always catch em due to his hunting techniques, anyway).

please help. im at the verge of selling it because i want more life in my tank(but still i cant. my puffer is just way too cool to sell)

You are finding out the hard way that these puffers are fish eaters. Therefore putting fish in with them is too much of a temptation for the suvattii.
In that tank there is no room for anything else. I, as most people would recommend he is kept alone.

thats what i was afraid of.

problem is i dont have space for another tank, my apartment aint that big.

oh well. cant win em all.

one more question(a stupid one, i guess): the arrowhead is ok with live plants in the tank, right? and some wood, too? i mean he lives in mekong rivers so i suppose its alright, i just wanna be sure.

He will be fine with plants and wood to decorate the tank.

Yes, you could make the tank a lovely centerpiece, so it won't look so empty. Just make sure you leave enough open space for it to burrow somewhere or it will uproot all your plants.

Aquatic gardening is a VERY addictive. Give that a try. I personally love mosses and carpet plants. Securing them to the substrate or large rocks and then covering them with a hair net can help form some really interesting caves and a great carpet effect.

I warn you, it is VERY addictive and your puffer will thank you. It is also very calming as well as rewarding.

That reminds me. The red bellies tank needs pruning.
