Hi everyone and thanks for reading.

Earlier today, I purchased 2 GSP at a LFS. I believe they were in freshwater, but I bought them right away because they were puffer fish! I did not get any information about them so I need asistance.

Currently, they are living with 10 Red Parrot Fish, 6 Black something (I'm new to this fish thing, but I'll load some pictures), 7 Feeder fish, 9 assorted Cichlids, and 2 Spotted something. Lol, but they are in a 300 gallon tank I believed.

Currently, they haven't eaten, because I'm feeding them Blood Red Parrot Pellets, but they haven't swam to the top to eat. So I have read that they eat ghost shrimps and worms. That I'll purchas tomorrow.

Also, I was reading early to get some background information that this GSP will soon become salt water fishes? I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to add salt or something to the tank and how will this affect the other fish? I'm new to everything x]

I'm not sure considering isolating them, but just give me feedback.

Thanks a lot and I really appreciate the help! Please leave suggestions and ask any question! :D

Ok, guidelines and opinions. Not compatible with your current stock. Will need a separate tank due to the requirement for high end brackish to marine conditions. Will very likely eat many of your current stock regardless of whether they are bigger than the GSPs or not. Will not eat pellets. See food thread on main page. Read the GSP article again, as it has the information as far as raising the salinity. Also has information as far as feeding requirements, tankmates and decor.

When will I have to change the GSP to Brackish? And how long will they live?

Are you sure you read the intro to GSP article? I think you should read it again, or maybe think about taking them back to the LFS.

You would need to get another tank for your GSP's or get rid of all your fresh water fish and turn that 300g into brackish. If you do get a new tank, 30g per GSP you should start acclimating as soon as the new tank is cycled. Do you know what a cycle is? They can live 15 years or more if cared for properly.

You should start raising the sg slowly (not by more than 0.002 a week) as soon as you can til it hits between 1.010 to 1.015. Then as the puffers get to 4", raise it to 1.020 or a little higher
