Puffer blinking hard

My S&S puffer is in 1.009 hypo getting rid of ich.

One thing I noticed is every now and then he'll close his eyes really tight in a hard blink as if his eyes were irritated. Closing them and squinting hard then opening again. Looks just like what you or I would do if we got smoke in our eyes or something.

Anything I should know or be worried about?

Check your water parameters - can be associated with drops in pH or spikes in ammonia.

Could also be parasites on his eyes.

Your puffer has eyelids?

I swear he does RTR! lol He can squint them totally closed. Maybe he's just bringing all the surrounding skin down around them somehow. I'll try to get a pic.

It looks kinda crazy when he does it. That's exactly what I thought when I first saw it. "My puffer has eyelids?!"

LOL! If you can capture that, we would all love to see it! I hope it is just a passing thing, but the concept is a hoot,

I have seen it many times as well.

It is the skin around the actual eye that "blinks".
